01 / OVERVIEW & CONTEXT

A browser-based environmental observatory integrating Copernicus Sentinel-2 multispectral satellite feeds to analyze Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI) dynamics and forest canopy density across Indian districts.

02 / PROBLEM STATEMENT

Satellite spectral data is traditionally siloed within specialized desktop GIS software, creating friction for researchers and analysts seeking rapid district-level vegetation comparisons.

03 / ARCHITECTURAL SOLUTION

Integrated Copernicus Sentinel-2 satellite imagery layers within an interactive Leaflet map interface. Implemented dynamic NDVI raster visualization and vector district boundaries directly in the browser, allowing real-time temporal comparison of vegetative health without local GIS tooling.

04 / KEY FEATURES & SYSTEM CAPABILITIES
01.

Direct ingestion of Copernicus Sentinel-2 multispectral earth observation tiles

02.

Dynamic client-side NDVI (Normalized Difference Vegetation Index) color-ramp rendering

03.

Interactive district polygon boundaries with metadata inspection on hover

04.

Zero-dependency browser GIS execution without local software prerequisites
